1 Place You HAVE to Visit in Honolulu, Hawaii

For those of you visiting Honolulu and want a sweet treat, this is for you!

While there are countless places I could recommend for you in Honolulu, this is a place that needs a blog post to itself. The buzz around it is real, and I can’t wait to share everything about it.

You probably want me to get straight to the point…

So what is the 1 place I recommend you check out in Honolulu?

Leonard’s Bakery!

The cutest little bakery located in Southern Honolulu. Be prepared for a long line, but the wait is WORTH IT!

Known for their Portuguese malasada puffs, you NEED to get one. They are basically donuts filled with your choice of custard, chocolate, coconut, macadamia nut or guava.

They come out toasty, soft, and so very yummy. They will make you scream “get in my belly!!!!”

Aside from malasadas, Leonard’s also has cookies, cupcakes, wraps, and a bunch of other sweets.

Along with a malasada, my friend ordered a chocolate dipped coconut macaroon, and a berry lemon cake. Holy yum.

We treated ourselves to Leonard’s after we did an intense hike (Koko Crater Trail). I was completely wiped out after this hike, but this bakery quickly turned that around. I was in heaven.

As for parking, there aren’t many spots, and since many people go here at once, you may be out of luck. The good things is there is street parking! We only had to walk about a block or two until we arrived.

I’ve heard there are other locations of Leonard’s around Honolulu (like food trucks) if you want to avoid waiting in line. We only waited about 15-20 minutes but I have heard about people waiting 1+ hours before. I read on a review there is a food truck past the airport which could be a quick grab before you catch your flight – something to keep in mind!

You could go here after a hike like I did, in the morning for breakfast, or for dessert after dinner. Either way you will not be disappointed.

I can’t get over the warmth and how the filling just oozes out. So. Freakin. Good. I still dream about this place.
